CAR AUDIO · BLANK RECORD

Tuning log template

Use this page when the next person needs the original audio settings, what changed, and how to put the original back. You leave with a blank handover log. Download it, copy it, or print it. This page does not choose the values and it does not write them to a device.

Original values, each change, and how to restore them. No automatic calibration.

  1. 1Write the project and the equipment.
  2. 2Save the original values.
  3. 3Record each change and why it was made.
  4. 4Record how you reviewed it and how to put the original back.

If something is unknown, write “Not confirmed.” This sheet does not calculate a safety result, and there is no button here that applies settings to a device. It does not tell you which number to enter.

When this record is not enough

  • You want to know whether one change was audible. That is a different note. Use the listening comparison checklist, with the vehicle parked and only one change.
  • You want a target curve, a crossover calculator, or a recommended equalizer number. This log does not provide those.
  • The job is a noise you already heard, not a setting you changed. Use the noise observation log.

How a filled note can look

Illustrative example — not a real vehicle case

Device and channelExample processor, front left. Not a real device.
Original value and unitNot confirmed
Candidate valueExample: one step up on one control. Not a recommended setting.

Not confirmedThe unit of the control. Do not invent it.
Review resultNot reviewed against a measurement.
How to restorePut the control back only if the original value was written down. If it was “Not confirmed,” do not guess.

Questions

Will this page apply a setting to my processor?

No. There is no control here that writes to a device. The file is a note.

What do I write if I do not know the original value?

Write “Not confirmed.” Leaving it blank is weaker, because a later reader may think the blank meant zero.

Is this a safety calculation?

No. The sheet does not decide that a setting is safe, finished, or better.
